Bola necklace makes a great gift for expectant mothers. The bola is a small cage that contains a ball which makes a harmonious sound as you move. In Mayan culture, these chime pendants were referred to as “Angel Callers” or “Angel Whisperers” and they were believed to provide inner calm and harmony by calling to the child’s guardian angel.
I filled the cage with the gemstones that promote healthy pregnancy and safe delivery. The gemstones I used to make this bola are Moonstone, Unakite, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Red Jasper and Lepidolite. The jewel is on a long stainless steel curb chain and it also features a small stainless steel baby feet charm.

After birth, when the baby hears the familiar chime, it might help to settle them to sleep, as they associate the sound with a warmth and presence of their mother.
